Join us for a one-night-only celebration of Hungarian harvest traditions at Brooklyn Winery on Thursday, October 9, from 6:30 to 9:30pm. Hosted by the Tulipán Foundation, this unforgettable evening will blend the flavors of award-winning wines with the richness of folk customs, immersing guests in one of the Carpathian Basin’s most cherished seasonal gatherings.

Hungary’s wine heritage is as diverse as its landscapes, with each region producing distinctive flavors, from the legendary sweet wines of Tokaj to the bold reds of Villány and Szekszárd. Festivities will begin with a 30-minute presentation by wine expert and ethnographer László Mód, offering insight into the traditions and significance of Hungarian wine culture. Following his talk, guests will join a guided tasting of fine Hungarian wines, imported by Palinkerie.

The evening will also feature traditional harvest food pairings such as savory pogácsa. Between sips and bites, guests can enjoy live folk music from Fényes Banda, browse a photo exhibition of the harvest season in Hungary, and explore a display of woven baskets created by Tulipán grantee Márta Legeza. Interactive craft stations in basket weaving, woodcarving, and leatherwork, led in part by students from the Nádudvar Folk Handicrafts Vocational High School, will invite guests to try their hand at traditional techniques that continue to thrive today.

Whether you’re drawn to the stories behind the wines, the beauty of the crafts, or the joy of dancing, this is an evening to sip and savor. Registration is now open, and space is limited for this exclusive celebration of Hungarian harvest traditions. Click here to reserve your spot today.
