This Tulipán Art & Culture Award supports individual artists that are committed to enriching the Hungarian American cultural landscape.

Applicants must be U.S.-based individuals who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents and have a strong connection to the Hungarian American artistic and cultural landscape. While applicants do not need to be of Hungarian descent, they must demonstrate a commitment to promoting Hungarian heritage within the United States. Open to artists aged 18 and older across all disciplines—including visual arts, performing arts, literary arts, folk arts, multimedia projects, and cultural curation—the award welcomes individuals at all career stages (emerging, mid-career, and established) with a proven record of professional achievements, community involvement, or contributions to Hungarian American culture.


Grant funding ranges from $5,000 to $15,000, depending on the scope and needs of the project. Applicants should include a detailed budget in their proposal.

The selection process follows the timeline below, starting with applications and concluding with the announcement of grantees.

  • Review Period: May 10–June 13, 2025
  • Announcement Date: By June 18, 2025

The Tulipan Art & Culture Award is awarded every other year.

In addition to attendance at select Tulipán events, Grantees must submit a midway progress report outlining fund usage, challenges, preliminary community impact, and progress toward goals, including any adjustments made. A final report is required upon project completion, detailing fund usage, project impact, audience engagement, and key lessons learned.
